PRANA’s Chia oil,

Chia seed (Salvia hispanica L.) has its origins in Mexico’s central valley and comes from a plant that belongs to the mint family. PRANA organic chia oil is produced in Mexico in a HACCP certified factory, submitted to high quality standards. The oil is obtained by cold-pressing the carefully selected black chia seeds. It is then filtered in order to obtain a lighter coloured oil, with a pleasant nutty flavour and delicate aromas. Then, the oil is sent to Montreal and bottled by PRANA. More than five kilograms of chia seeds are needed to produce one litre of chia oil.

Chia oil is a simple and delicious new way of introducing omega-3s in your daily diet. Chia oil contains 8.5g of omega-3 per tablespoon as well as an impressive quantity of antioxidants, which protect the essential fatty acids and render the oil stable. Omega-3 and omega-6

Omega-3 and omega-6 are essential fatty acids. The majority of people consume way too much omega-6 and too little omega-3. Recipes

Italian-Style chia dressing

3/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup PRANA chia oil
1 cup chopped fresh tomatoes
3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsps tamari sauce
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1 pinch of fresh or dried oregano
1 clove of garlic
Sea salt and pepper to taste

Put all ingredients together in a blender and blend until smooth. Splash on a lovely green salad and enjoy!


Raw Almond Chia Milk

Yield 1 liter
1 cup PRANA almonds, soaked 4-6 hours
4 cups water
2 tbsp organic PRANA chia oil
6 Medjool dates PRANA
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch sea salt

Blend all ingredients in a blender until all ingredients are homogenized. Strain trough a nut milk bag or cheesecloth; push as much liquid trough as possible. Serve or store in refrigerator up to 2 days.
